Reduce Shoulder Pain with this Ergo Keyboard!

Reduce Shoulder Pain with this Keyboard!

Just because a product is ergonomic, doesn’t mean it will work for everybody. In fact, one of the foundational principles of ergonomics is that a piece of equipment is adjustable to your body shape and size. For months now, I’ve been on the hunt for an ergo keyboard that fits me and my typing style.

So I’m THRILLED to share that I have finally found my perfect keyboard match – and you should try it too! It’s the Kinesis Freestyle 2 Ergo Keyboard and my favorite part is that you can use it as a split keyboard or side-by-side.

Split ergo keyboard benefits

A split keyboard allows you to customize the fit for your unique shoulder width AND your typing style. Now when I say that, it’s because I’m not a perfect typist, and sometimes my fingers cross over the center. I needed a keyboard that could accommodate that!

Why is it important to be able to adjust to your shoulder width? With a regular keyboard, your hands are together and your elbows tend to point out, meaning your shoulders are under  continuous tension. Plus this puts stress on the wrist. Watch the video below to see a demonstration of how a split keyboard will solve both of these problems.

The accessory kit is important here, because it has the risers needed to elevate the keyboard into the best wrist position for you (low, medium, or high), as well as the palm support! The elevation of the keyboard places the wrist joint in less ‘pronation” that a regular keyboard. This can assist with less tension in the wrist joint which minimizes the risk for carpal tunnel or other wrist injuries.
