Here at VerticAlign, we’re always on the lookout for desk seating options that support good posture. And that’s why today, I’m going to tell you about the kneeling chair.
Now if you’re feeling a bit confused, I wouldn’t blame you! This is a unique chair that I first bumped into back in the 80’s because my dad had one. But then they sort of vanished until now, and I’m glad they’re back.
The key is to choose one that’s adjustable, so that your hips, legs, and knees are aligned properly. Here’s a link to the one you’ll see in the video (affiliate link). This is also a great way to bring some variety into your workstation options because it’s low cost and compact.
Now keep in mind that you aren’t going to want to spend 8 hours a day in the kneeling chair. Of course I don’t want you to spend 8 hours a day in any chair, but this one does get fatiguing after a while. I recommend you spend about 1-2 hours a day using this, interspersed with a regular chair and standing desk for a winning posture and ergonomic routine.
